Protestant church Marchienne-au-Pont

Built in 1896 on land belonging to the de Cartier family, this small building is the soul of a particularly active community that dates back to the founding of the Protestant Church of Charleroi in 1846.
A brick building with a projecting portal and a rose window on the façade, its interior architecture expresses, in its space and its furnishings, Protestant thought: simplicity and sobriety for a worship centred on the Word.
A Table flanked by the Huguenot cross and a Bible on a lectern, a choir cross, an ambo, a balcony and a few stained-glass windows are enough to create here a collective warmth and inwardness. In short, a building reflecting the spirituality of a faith dominated by Grace and the Sola Fide of the Reformation.
