Along the Antwerpsestraat in Boom, the Church of the Sacred Heart invites passers-by to quiet and prayer. The parish church was built in 1936–1937 to the plans of Camille Bal and Ernest Lamot, at a time when tradition and renewal met.
It is an oriented brick church in which modern Gothic joins the forms of Art Deco, covered by a bent saddle roof and furnished with an adjoining west tower. The stained-glass windows date from 1956. The church is listed in the inventory of architectural heritage.
