Visit to the church
The architect Roger Bastin (1913-1987), in the full maturity of his art, succeeded in combining the sobriety of concrete with the interiority of welcoming spaces: “the architect is directly responsible for welcoming man into what is to be built”. In 1964, he drew up the project for the monastery. He endeavoured to respond to all the community's options by maintaining a balance between the desire for space and the need for functional concentration. Roger Bastin's art and curriculum vitae place him among the greats of contemporary architecture. At the centre of the monastery, the unifying space of the church and its warm tones invite the community to the Meeting.
