Saint Michael's Church: 950 years of history

One of the oldest witnesses to the Romanesque heritage of the Mosan region will celebrate its 950th anniversary in 2020. Despite modifications in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, this village church has largely retained its 11th century appearance. The interior features interesting 14th century choir stalls from the former abbey church. The square in front of the church, the Place du Centenaire, is shaded by an imposing lime tree, planted in 1930 on the occasion of Belgium's centenary.

One of the oldest of the Mosan Romanesque heritage, this village church has almost entirely preserved the original 11th century structure and appearance. The Place du Tilleul, in front of the church, is shaded by an imposing lime tree, planted in 1930, on the occasion of Belgium's centenary.

The interior of the church is also very interesting, with very old stalls and various elements reflecting the history of the place. The church is linked to Waulsort Abbey, of which the castle is the only other visible witness.
