Fiets- of wandelzoektocht : “Langs lage wegen naar heiligenhuizen”. Zoektocht van ca. 15km te voet of met de fiets langs de vier kerken van Kontich, met in elke kerk enkele boeiende vragen over de aanwezige heiligenbeelden. Starten kan aan elk van 4 kerken. Formulier van zoektocht in de kerk verkrijgbaar.
Tussen 10.00 en 18.00 met uitzonderingen van de erediensten :
Sint-Martinus : niet tussen 10.00 en 11.00
Sint-Rita : niet tussen 14.30 en 16.00
Onze-Lieve-Vrouw : niet tussen 11.00 en 12.00
Sint-Michael : niet tussen 11.00 en 12.00

In the hamlet of Kontich-Kazerne stands the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, a restrained brick sanctuary that mirrors the calm of its surroundings. Dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of Mary, it is a place of simplicity and silence.
The church was built from 1931 to 1933 to the design of Carlos Van der Voodt. At first a chapelry, it was raised to the rank of parish church only in 1952. It is a sober building, oriented to the south-west and covered by a saddle roof, preceded by a porch and flanked, to the north-west against the choir, by a small tower likewise crowned with a saddle roof.
Through its modest, neo-traditional idiom, the church bears witness to the care with which a young community gave itself, between the wars, its own house of prayer. The building forms part of the protected heritage of Flanders.
