Sint-Martinus
The Sint-Martinus church in Wezemaal is a protected monument. The Gothic building with local iron sandstone originally had a pointed tower, which was replaced with a stump roof after a fire in 1860.
Wezemaal was a place of pilgrimage in the late Middle Ages. At its peak, the centuries-old cult of St. Job attracted 20,000 pilgrims a year. This cult provided income for the church, as a result of which some top works of art can be admired there.
