In Sint-Pieters-Kapelle stands the Church of Saint Peter, dedicated to the apostle and protected as a monument since 1949. In a single building it unites ten centuries of rural church-building and offers a striking image of the faith handed down here from generation to generation.

The body of the tower dates back to the thirteenth century and is Romanesque; the arrow slits pierced in its walls recall the time when such towers also served as a refuge. The chancel, sacristy and bell chamber are late-Gothic and were raised in 1420; the round stair turret dates from 1535. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries the nave received in turn classical and neo-Gothic features, and the portal is neo-Romanesque, from the early twentieth century.

The interior is as rich as it is varied, with works in Gothic, baroque, rococo and classical style. Notable are the baroque high altar with its altarpiece by Otto van Veen of around 1600-1610, the early-Gothic baptismal font adorned with masks of around 1300, a fifteenth-century Pietà and an impressive Way of the Cross, painted by Constantin Meunier between 1865 and 1870.
