Saint Anthony of Padua

The Church of Saint Anthony of Padua is the parish church of Lebeke, a village of the town of Ninove. The parish was founded in 1914 and, while awaiting a lasting sanctuary, the faithful at first gathered in a temporary wooden church.

The definitive church was built between 1941 and 1945 to designs by Roger Cassiman. It is a brick building beneath a saddle roof, flanked by an adjoining tower, carried out in a sober Art Deco style that gives the whole a calm dignity firmly of its own time.
