Notre-Dame du Vivier

The church of Notre-Dame du Vivier is an integral part of the medieval Cistercian abbey. It does not have a foundation charter but it is present in documents as early as the 13th century.
The style of construction of the church is Gothic but it has evolved over the centuries, particularly in the 18th century, to become part of the neo-classical ensemble of the entire abbey where you can taste the harmony of bricks and stones, symmetry, sobriety and architectural elegance. An important restoration in 1905 restored the church to its original style while keeping many 18th century attributes inside. This monastic church became a parish church in the 19th century.
It is classified as an abbey with an exceptional heritage in Wallonia.
