The church was built in the 18th century, the tower in 1736 and the triple nave in “market hall” style with a triple slate roof in 1767.

It was built on the remains of an ancient gothic sanctuary. Today the church is of a mixed style but mainly semi classical brick. Inside is a statue of Saint Wilgeforte, paintings of the sacred heart, Mary, and the Virgin with the parrot, 18th century organs and the pulpit.
