We zetten onze jongeren in de kijker. Leerlingen van de 6de klas van de tekenacademie gaan aan de slag in de kerken en gaan kijken en tekenen. Ze gaan op verkenning en ontdekken zo de kerk en haar geschiedenis. Los van geloof of ongeloof wordt de ervaring met het gebouw, de architectuur en de plaats in de publieke ruimte, weergegeven. Zo brengen zij op geheel eigen wijze ons religieus erfgoed in beeld.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help
This first Hallaic church was the chapel of the castle of the Mechelen Berthouten, which already existed in 1131. The origins of the present church date back to the 14th century and it has been dedicated to Our Lady since 1502. The church has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries.
In the church, there is a miraculous, clothed and kept statue of Mary with child. This statue is said to date from the 15th or 16th century.
The golden age of pilgrimage in the 17th and 18th centuries led to renovations and embellishments of the church, which was listed as a whole, together with the cemetery, in 1976.
