In Kersbeek, a village of the municipality of Kortenaken, the Church of Saint Servatius stands amid its churchyard. A first church was raised here in the second half of the fourteenth century, a little to the south; in 1496 a larger sanctuary rose on the present site.

Badly damaged during the religious troubles, the church was rebuilt from 1604 to 1617. When it had become dilapidated at the end of the eighteenth century, a new Classical church was raised from 1791 to 1796, in which the late-Gothic choir from the early seventeenth century was kept. In 1913 the building was enlarged with a west bay and a new tower, to the design of Albert Geens. It is a single-nave brick church, with an engaged west tower and a three-sided choir.

The choir preserves stained-glass windows and oak choir stalls from the first quarter of the eighteenth century. Among the other witnesses are two seventeenth-century paintings and a polychrome triumphal cross from the first quarter of the sixteenth century, together with a pulpit and a wooden font of around 1800.
