The Sint-Pieterskerk of Langdorp is located at some distance from the public road, on the banks of the Demer river and on the edge of a vast nature reserve with an unobstructed view of the wide valley, on the border between Kempen and Hageland. This church with walled cemetery site is, together with the presbytery, presbytery garden and village centre, protected as a monument.

In its present form, the church is the result of a long and complicated building history. For example, the choir from the 13th century and the tower from the 14th century, which were built in iron sandstone, are Gothic in style. The current nave and side aisles, on the other hand, are the result of an 18th century adaptation in a more neo-classical style.

During the last renovation the interior was also modernized. The predominantly Baroque furniture was complemented by new confessionals and oak panelling, testimony to the sense of “Clean” with all sorts of artefacts ranging from statues from the 15th century, over a unique 17th century marble porch altar by Hubert Vanden Eynde, to the listed Robustelly organ (1782), a musical showpiece of the Liège school.

Between 1993 and 1996 this organ was fully restored. The walled cemetery with many old graves and war graves from World War II tells the tranquil history of a village and a region.
