Old abbey church built on the foundations of a church, erected around 652 by Saint Berthuin who came to evangelize the region. After obtaining the surrounding land, an abbey developed there, living under the rule of Saint Augustine until the French Revolution.

After the expulsion of the community and the expropriation of the abbey, the bishop of Namur gradually bought it back and entrusted it to the community of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. Only the abbey church was given to the parish, which celebrates the services there to this day.
