Event Host Building

Saint Martin

On the outside, one is immediately struck by an unusual feature: the church, built of local stone and rubble, is beautifully sober and has a classic square tower with its bell tower; a round tower, probably dating from the 13th century, is attached to it, inside which a spiral staircase leads to the organ loft. The present building dates from the 16th century and is in the Hennuyer Gothic style. It has undergone several restorations; the last one in 2017.

The interior gives a beautiful impression of warm harmony. One is immediately struck by the vaulted brick ceilings and the beautiful blue stone of the columns and paving. The furniture is of high quality. Near the altar is a splendid wooden Christ, the main altar in red marble, a polychrome wooden calvary from the 16th century, the baptismal font, stained glass windows, one of which depicts Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, and tombstones in the porch.
